|Happy Weekend! Check out what’s been going on in my world and some of the best articles from around the blogosphere.|
I’m back! In case you didn’t know I was in Washington D.C. last weekend so sorry…no roundup last week. Although you’ll get a bit of a double dose to make up for it.
It was a bachelor weekend for me to head up to D.C. for a buddy of mine’s wedding. I hadn’t been up to the area in 7-8 years so it was great getting to go and even better to get to do a last solo trip before officially becoming a full-time SAHD. Which by the way went well this past week with few tears by my daughter and myself.
D.C. was awesome although I have to admit it was a long and tiring trip and I was glad to head back home last Sunday. It’s crazy how having a child changes your perspective on things. I wasn’t even gone for 3 full days but come Sunday I was ready to just teleport back home. I’ve added some pictures from my trip and the whole reason to come home further down in the post.
There’s not much in the markets that I feel is an overwhelming value purchase right now so I’ve been a bit more active in the options market. By selling puts you can generate a “premium” yield or purchase shares at a discount. That sounds like a good situation to me, especially in the current market environment.
I opened up 2 more positions this week and closed another position to lock in a gain. The first put option was on Altria and I’m looking forward to seeing how things play out. The second one was opened up on Friday so you’ll have to wait until tomorrow or Monday to get the full details.
I’m probably a bit tapped out right now for options unless there’s an overwhelmingly good opportunity that pops up. I have to admit that I’m a bit saddened by that since it’s been great getting back involved in the options market even though I’m having to be a bit more conservative than I’d like due to limited funds.
Oh yeah, I also added to my Nike (Analysis Here) and V.F. Corporation positions in my Loyal3 portfolio with accumulated dividends. You’ve got to love no commission purchases!
