Weekly Roundup – August 6, 2016…How is it August edition?

Weekly Roundup filled with some of the best articles on dividend growth investing, stock analyses, personal finance and financial independence from the past week.
Happy Weekend!  Check out what’s been going on in my world and some of the best articles from around the blogosphere.

How in the world is it August already?  This year seemed to just be dragging on and on then once June hit we just kind of fast forwarded to August.  Of course there’s good reason for that in our household with our daughter being born in early July.

This past Thursday I had my first daddy-daughter solo day while my wife went to a professional development.  Overall it was a success and there were no tears by either of us!  Thursday and then Monday through Wednesday of next week will be a great trial run for my stay at home dad life.  The plan was for me to be a SAHD, but this 3 day trial could put an end to that one.

I’ve been doing much better with taking advantage of the free time that I have to get writing done and I’m feeling pretty good about it.  There’s still plenty of ideas I need to get written down though so free time or an extra set of hands is what’s needed.  Especially since I want to continue to try and develop some other tools/resources for y’all to use.

The Devil’s Financial Dictionary by Jason Zweig (affiliate link) is a nice little time killer that gives brutally honest and often humorous definitions of different finance and investing terminology.

Today’s word/definition is:

“Wealth Manager, n. – A member of hte middle class who tells members of the upper class how to manage their wealth, starting by urging them to give him or her approximately 1 percent of it every year.  After many years of collecting these fees, the wealth manager will eventually become wealthy in his or her own rigth and might well think hard before hiring a wealth manager.”

On to the Roundup
